The entrance of SCP-KAMURO during an anomalous window.

Item #: SCP-KAMURO

Object Class: Safe Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: Foundation personnel are to be stationed at all times at [REDACTED] in the Kabukicho district of Shinjuku, Tokyo to monitor anomalous activity stemming from SCP-KAMURO. Civilians are to be redirected with the standard “Police Emergency” cover story to prevent entry into SCP-KAMURO during these periods of activity. SCP-KAMURO-A and SCP-KAMURO-B are to be monitored through SCP-KAMURO’s camera network for any signs of containment breach. In the event of a containment breach, SCP-KAMURO-A is to be detained and transferred to Site-██ for further research. SCP-KAMURO-B is to be detained and transferred to Site-██ to be kept in a standard humanoid containment chamber.

Description: SCP-KAMURO is an anomalous entertainment and red light district in the city of Tokyo located at coordinates overlapping with those of the district of Kabukicho. Both districts share various similarities in their city planning with roads, alleys, landmarks, and establishments sometimes sharing exact locations, often only differing in name. Despite these similarities the districts are not identical, with SCP-KAMURO lacking certain alleys and roads seen in Kabukicho and having locations that do not exist in its counterpart. SCP-KAMURO is also notably smaller than Kabukicho, covering only fraction of the district’s overall area. SCP-KAMURO additionally includes a district-wide camera network far more detailed than that of Kabukicho, which is ideal for monitoring activity within the area. This network can be tapped into remotely despite the age of the technology.

SCP-KAMURO perpetually repeats a selection of days from the middle of December of 2005. The exact dates vary, but always fall between the 5th and the 24th. People within the district do not appear to notice the abnormalities in the passage of time and operate as if this wasn’t the case.

Entering SCP-KAMURO is possible through [REDACTED], during windows of anomalous activity. During these windows SCP-KAMURO’s overlap with Kabukicho causes an entrance to SCP-KAMURO to manifest at [REDACTED], allowing people to enter SCP-KAMURO. Research has not proven a consistent pattern in the appearance of these windows. No people already within the Kabukicho district are affected by the activity. All people entering SCP-KAMURO believe they are entering Kabukicho as usual. No possible method of exiting SCP-KAMURO has been found. Family, friends, and other social contacts of people who have entered the district do not show significant concern for the missing people and find it difficult to focus on conversations revolving around them. People within SCP-KAMURO do not appear to realize they are unable to exit the district, and repeat various day-to-day actions within the area seemingly without the need to sleep.

Footage of SCP-KAMURO-A during a period of roaming.

SCP-KAMURO-A is a humanoid entity estimated 185cm in height. SCP-KAMURO-A appears to be missing an eye as indicated by an eyepatch covering its left eye, but performs actions as if its vision wasn’t impaired in any way. A large tattoo featuring a Hannya covers SCP-KAMURO-A’s back, biceps, and breasts. SCP-KAMURO-A frequently roams the streets of SCP-KAMURO with the goal of engaging in violent combat with anyone it deems a suitable target. These most commonly include large human males and SCP-KAMURO-B. SCP-KAMURO-A possesses remarkable strength and dexterity that exceeds the abilities thought to be possible for humans. While roaming in search of conflict and violence, it emits a bright glow visible to the naked eye and cameras. Occasionally a small group of human males accompany SCP-KAMURO-A and join it in combat as allies, though their strength is comparable to that of an average human. SCP-KAMURO-A requires no sleep to continue its roaming and is only rarely seen eating.

SCP-KAMURO-B is a human male of Japanese descent, estimated 185cm in height. SCP-KAMURO-B is regularly pursued and hunted by SCP-KAMURO-A and engages in combat with it whenever the two come into contact. Despite SCP-KAMURO-A’s strength SCP-KAMURO-B consistently wins these fights and moves on from them with very little damage. Outside of these instances SCP-KAMURO-B does not appear to possess strength atypical to humans nor show signs of violent behavior. Observations have suggested SCP-KAMURO-B may have a feature or a quality that attracts SCP-KAMURO-A to its location, but this has yet to be confirmed.

Both SCP-KAMURO-A and SCP-KAMURO-B have shown varying levels of awareness of the anomalous nature of SCP-KAMURO. SCP-KAMURO-A appears to be fully aware of the district’s effects and has relayed this information to SCP-KAMURO-B after it began showing signs of awareness on its own (see Addendum-KAMURO-1).

Addendum-KAMURO-1

Foreword: The following is a transciption of video footage captured on SCP-KAMURO's Suppon Street in the aftermath of a confrontation between SCP-KAMURO-A and SCP-KAMURO-B.

<BEGIN LOG>

[Overhead security camera footage from SCP-KAMURO’s Suppon Street shows SCP-KAMURO-A slumped down next to a wall, smoking. SCP-KAMURO-B is standing up beside it, smoking.]

SCP-KAMURO-B: I don’t [Unintelligible] move is next week.

SCP-KAMURO-A: What do ya mean?

SCP-KAMURO-B: I mean what I said. This is a waste of time.

SCP-KAMURO-A: Ohh, like ya haven’t just been fuckin’ around since [Unintelligible.] Lighten up, it ain't that serious.

SCP-KAMURO-B: You can't keep us here.

[SCP-KAMURO-A visibly laughs.]

SCP-KAMURO-A: It's never been up to me whether ya get to leave or not, [Unintelligible.]

[SCP-KAMURO-B stays still for the next 7 seconds.]

SCP-KAMURO-A: It ain't our choice to make. Never has been.

SCP-KAMURO-B: Shut up.

SCP-KAMURO-A: [Unintelligible.]

SCP-KAMURO-B: I told you to shut up.

[SCP-KAMURO-A stubs out its cigarette and gets up, pinning SCP-KAMURO-B against the wall. The dialogue that follows is largely unintelligible. SCP-KAMURO-B appears agitated by the conversation, shoving SCP-KAMURO-A away and initiating another fight between the two of them. The next several minutes of footage involve the subjects inflicting escalating amounts of violence upon one another, at the end of which SCP-KAMURO-A has been pinned down on the street by SCP-KAMURO-B.]

SCP-KAMURO-A: Do ya know, why they say that it never sleeps? 'Cause it's alive, a living organism, like the both of us. I think it breathes. Would explain why I always feel so fuckin' lightheaded in the small alleys, when the walls start twirling and warping and shit.

SCP-KAMURO-B: [Dialogue obstructed by static.]

SCP-KAMURO-A: It ain't yer fault. It was probably like this long before ya came here. Before any of us did.

SCP-KAMURO-B: [Dialogue obstructed by static.]

SCP-KAMURO-A: Oh, no, shit like this is old. Ya can't just... will it into existence, I dunno. That wouldn't make any sense anyway, why would ya want the moment yer life went to the shitter to last forever?

SCP-KAMURO-B: [Dialogue obstructed by static.]

SCP-KAMURO-A: Maybe. Never say never, but I ain't makin' any promises.

SCP-KAMURO-B: [Dialogue obstructed by static.]

SCP-KAMURO-A: Ya mean it?

SCP-KAMURO-B: [Dialogue obstructed by static.]

SCP-KAMURO-A: Well let's make some magic happen then, [Unintelligible.]

[Upon SCP-KAMURO-A looking at the camera, the footage cuts off for the next 3 hours.]
